Hyde Park Nocturnal Paint Out | Saturday Oct 3rd | 8pm-12am | Historic Hyde Park, Boise

Ready to paint the town… literally? Join us for one of the most exhilarating events of the Eagle Plein Air Festival — the Hyde Park Nocturnal Paint Out! As the sun sets and city lights flicker on, artists will capture the unique charm of Boise’s North End under the stars.

Set up your easel along bustling North 13th Street, surrounded by glowing streetlights, vintage 1900’s architecture, and the hum of nightlife. From cozy cafés to vibrant neon signs and the silhouette of historic buildings, Hyde Park offers endless inspiration after dark.

Whether you’re drawn to moonlit alleyways, glowing windows, or the buzz of late-night diners, this is your chance to push creative boundaries and explore the magic of painting en plein air by night. Bring your headlamp, your night vision, and your boldest palette — this is painting with a twist!

NOCTURNAL COMPETITION

Artist have the entire week to create an original work at night. Early morning dawn, sunset, moonlight and street lamp make for interesting paintings.

The best way to do that is to explore nocturnes — paintings of twilight, dusk and night — and relish how magical stars over a snowy field or the warm glow of a fiery sunset against the deepest blue sky can be.  From “Toned Poems of Night” https://www.artistsnetwork.com/art-subjects/nocturnes/

Artists registered for the Plein Air Festival are eligible for this additional competition and prize money.
