New workshop for beginner to intermediate painters

Learn the basics for successful and stress-free plein air painting in the mountains of beautiful McCall Idaho! From packing of supplies to setting up your easel you’ll learn the basics for creating successful paintings outdoors. Participants will gain valuable insights into this unique style of painting without wasting time struggling on your own. Learn Bonnie’s essential tips for capturing light in ever-changing conditions plus advice for improving your composition in the field. Bring your medium of choice. Oil & pastel are preferred, but acrylic & watercolor are welcome too. Its all about the basics. The workshop will begin at 10 a.m. and ends about 3 p.m each day. McCall locations TBD. Special discount offering to Plein Air Painters of Idaho and the regional Pastel Society of the West Coast fee is $185; non-members $225. Sign up early to save your space before this workshop is sold out.
Supply list: Your current Plein Air set up – palette and Medium of your choice (oils, pastels, etc), sketchbook, 3 values of markers for value sketches, paper towels, bag for garbage, easel set up, chair/stool (if you like to sit while working)
A half hour break will be taken for a lunch break about 12:30, so bring your choice of lunchable item and water for your consumption!
** If there is interest in a continuation of a full third day plein air painting workshop, Bonnie will be available to work with participants to expand on their newly gained knowledge from this Primer class. Fee for this 3rd day session is $95 (9a.m.-4p.m.)
